I was speaking on a panel at my local NAWBO chapter about goal setting and there were some things that came up that I really want to share 3 key tools that as you get into the New Year will support you staying motivated to be in action around your goals. You can use them personally or with your team.
- Write down you goals and keep them in front of you – It is important to put your goals in places where you can see them every day. I have mine on my desk, in a document that I keep open every day and reference as I make decisions, in my calendar and on my phone. It reminds me of what I want and what I am working for.
- Motivation comes from a personal pay off – write down what you get personally from accomplishing your goals. What does meeting your sales goal do for you on a personal level? What will it allow you to do because you earned a certain level of revenue? What does losing weight or getting fit and healthy get you? Does it support you having fun with your loved ones? Being a live longer so you can enjoy your children or grandchildren in a good way? What is the vision you will hold out in front of you that will make you get up and “do the damn thing” when every part of you says stay in bed?
- Support yourself making your goals inevitable by chunking your goals down so they are manageable. This may look like setting benchmarks with deadlines for each goal that moves things along on quarterly basis, 90 day mini-goals and action plans (i.e. tasks that get your there), weekly tasks, daily to do lists, new practices that move your vision along. I have been using a whole system of tools that support me moving along and accomplishing my goals and keeping them in front of me daily so I can manifest my vision and ideal lifestyle.
This year can be game changing for you – you only have to take the time to set yourself up for success.
If you need support in setting up your year for success, I would love to support you.
