What have you accomplished in the first 90 days of 2019?
So did you set amazing goals in January for yourself and your organization? How are you doing with those goals?
Spring has sprung. The days are noticeably longer and the weather is getting more tolerable for this southern girl ( that’s me). And as spring arrives and we come to the end of the first quarter, I start looking at what have I been doing and what is going well, what is going as planned and what didn’t work the way I thought. Invariably, some things took longer than I anticipated.
I want to suggest that this is a great time to regroup. To bring your team together and assess where you are and create a 90-day action plan that will move your goals along so that in June, you can start the summer feeling good about your accomplishments.
Why do action planning? Well, I imagine you are as busy as I am. But what are you doing? Are you doing what comes in front of you and begging for your attention? Are you making time for those important things that have no deadline, are easily postponed and are critical to your next level of success? Doing a 90-day action plan allows you to put into action the things that will move your goals along. They prioritize what is truly important and give you and your team a structure and an accountability system for your goals and benchmarks. 90-Day action plans, keep you on track with your vision by putting what’s important at the top of your list and keeping it top of mind. As your business and organization grows, 90 day action plans are a great management tool for your team. Everyone’s role and responsibility and metrics for accomplishing organizations goals gets clearly spelled out in writing and agreed to. Many of my clients use that action plan as the agenda for their weekly staff meetings. Are you on track with your goals or not? What do you need from the team to move forward and accomplish your goals and metrics for this quarter/this month/this week?
